Anyone in NY?
Hey! I'm new to LJ and this is my first group so I'm a little excited to be posting! Just wondering if anyone is in the NY area? Am I allowed to do this? A few years ago (Feb 04) I went to SNL and afterwards, hung out in the lobby like a dork waiting for people to come out so I could talk to them and try to make them love me. It was lots of fun and I'd like to do it again, so I was kinda sorta wondering if anyone lived around here, we could become best friends and go together. I'm really not this awkward. I promise.

Um, obviously creepy people are the best kind of people. When I did it in 2004 I had seen the show so was in the building and just kind of followed the crowd, and everyone seemed to wind up at the door on 50th St outside of 30 Rock and then people from the cast started coming out and everyone was really cool. Lots of people who didn't see the show were there as well. It was hella fun.

That does sound like a lot of fun!
We camped out to see James Franco and Kings of Leon, and around 1am, Bill Hader comes out and takes pictures with all of us and thanks us for hanging out.
I was on crutches at the time, and he called me a "cripple" and was extra nicer to me. He told me this. "I'm being extra nicer to you, cripple."
It was amazing.

We should do this

Yes! Totally! I've always wanted to camp out for tix but my friends are all wimpy little girls and never want to do it. I'd be totally down. Side note, but my friend was the Asian kid that played James Franco's roommate! His name is Alan Wong and he was also one of the graduates in the Steve Carell ep. He is one of those people too lame to camp out with me even though he is obsessed with the show.

how did he get that job?!

He's an actor, and by that I mean bartender. But he submitted his headshots to whoever does extras casting for SNL and they call him a lot for some reason. He got called to play a background chef in the Benihana sketch w/Jonah Hill but the costume was too big, so they called him back to be in the graduation sketch and then again for James Franco's monologue. He's AFTRA and I think SNL only uses AFTRA talent for background work which sucks because how much would I kill to do that!?
